On the 2nd July there will be an event at Kings Place, London, N1 to explore Shakespeare’s sonnets. It is being presented by Poet in the City in collaboration with The Shakespeare Institute and the Shakespeare Birthplace trust. There will be readings and discussions and Michael will be one of those taking part. Full details can be found at the Kings Place web site, where bookings can also be made. According to the brochure “…this event promises to be a highlight in a year of celebration of British culture.”

Peter Ackroyd has recently had a biography on Wilkie Collins published and Michael is reading an abridged version on BBC Radio 4 at 09.45 every morning next week (27th February to 2nd March)

Excellent news! Michael will be playing Antony in Shakespeare’s Antony and Cleopatra at the Chichester Festival Theatre from the 7th-29th September!! Kim Cattrall will be playing Cleopatra. Booking for Friends opens on the 13th February, with public booking opening on the 23rd.

Michael’s book Sweet William Twenty Thousand Hours with Shakespeare has now been published by Nick Hern Books. ISBN number is 978-1-85459-568-3. It was a very enjoyable evening yesterday at the Cottesloe in which Michael read some very interesting extracts from the book, followed by a signing.
